About Interreg

Marhetak is being implemented in the framework of Interreg V-A Euregion Meuse-Rhine with a support of 1,7 million euros by the European Regional Development Fund of the European Union.

Interreg Euregio Meuse-Rhine (EMR) transcends borders by enabling cooperation between regional areas in different countries. They invest in projects around innovation, economy, social inclusion and training and territorial cohesion. By stimulating cross-border cooperation, they strengthen the economic and social fabric in the border region between Belgium, Germany and the Netherlands.

The Interreg V-A EMR programme is investing nearly 100 million euros in the development of this Interreg area in the period up to 2023. The area stretches from Leuven in the west to the borders of Cologne in the east, and runs from Eindhoven all the way to the borders of Luxembourg.
More than 5.5 million people live in this cross-border region, where the best of three countries come together in a truly European society. With this investment of EU funds in the Interreg projects of regional project partners, the EU is investing directly in economic development,
innovation, territorial development and social inclusion and education in this area.
